The rapid development of Information and Communication Technology (ICT)in the 21st century has reshaped national security concepts, positioningcyberspace as a strategic and competitive domain. Indonesia, recording thehighest number of cyber incidents in Southeast Asia in 2023, faces pressingchallenges in cyber defense, particularly within the Indonesian National ArmedForces (TNI). This research aims to examine the strategic significance of theTNI Cyber Unit (SATSIBER TNI) in shaping Indonesia’s military cyber defensearchitecture. Using a qualitative approach, the study involves in-depthinterviews with SATSIBER personnel, members of Commission I of the Houseof Representatives, and international cybersecurity experts, alongsidedocument analysis. Guided by Securitisation Theory and the CybersecurityConcept (including the CIA Triad), the findings reveal that SATSIBER TNIplays a key role in addressing cyber threats as existential challenges and instrengthening military defense posture. This research contributes to academicdiscourse on cyber defense integration and offers strategic insights forpolicymakers to enhance military cyber capabilities in the digital warfare era.
